Australians bring animal welfare tour to States
WISE — The Amos family from Australia is primed with sobering statistics about animal welfare and now has more in-person visuals and stories to relate far and wide.
The family is father Anthony, mother Rachel and children Bella, Austin and Aria.
“We are passionate about the welfare of our four-legged friends,” the family said on its website as it prepared to launch an awareness and fund-raising campaign across the United States.
They feel so strongly about it that the five of them moved into a motor coach and “are touring America for an up close and personal lesson in U.S. history and to raise money and awareness for animal rescues.”
Anthony credits his children with the idea. In Wise Friday, the kids pulled the work weight, videoing their dad and interviews he did with locals, asking and answering questions from strangers inquisitive about their adventure while loving on dogs and bottle-feeding kittens.
The Bathe to Save Team rolls across the nation in a big blue bus and pulls behind it the mobile dog grooming unit that would eventually see Amos become one of Australia’s youngest millionaires at age of 28. He founded HydroDog at age 21.
The stories on their Bathe to Save tour team website tell the backstory of Amos, who began his career straight out of high school playing professional rugby Australia.
“Within five years, HydroDog had grown to more than 100 franchises across Australia and was the first franchise of its kind to be in every state and territory,” according to the website. “After the 100th franchise milestone was achieved, HydroDog implemented a master franchise model and took the franchise system to the next level. This resulted in all state and territories in Australia being sold within an 18-month period.”
Grossing $10 million annually, HydroDog grew to be the world’s largest franchise of its
kind. Amos and his team “revolutionized the dog grooming industry by designing and creating a fiberglass mobile grooming salon in the shape of a big blue dog and, to this day, there is no other product like it in the marketplace,” according to the website.
With the Bathe to Save National Tour, Amos is focused on raising awareness of the benefits of animal adoption while also promoting the sponsoring organizations and serving as a media spokesperson.
Wife Rachel Amos had a career rooted in finance, according to the website, and then became an expectant mother in the corporate world who “saw a need for stylish clothing and opened a maternity store.” The boutique maternity and newborn baby store was so popular and grew so rapidly that it attracted “an offer that generated a sizable profit margin.”
Joining their parents on this adventure are Isabella Amos, Austin Amos and Aria Amos, each of whom work to connect their animal advocacy message to kids their age. They are in school and receive lessons and guidance online.
