In 2016, Australians Anthony Amos, Rachel Amos, and their kids Isabella, Austin, and Aria conceived the Bathe To Save Tour, during which their family would raise money for dog shelters throughout America by hitching one of HydroDog’s Big Blue Dog mobile grooming vans to the back of a huge tour bus and travelling through all 50 of the United States to conduct benefit events at shelters in those states. These public events range from smaller attractions hosted by shelters and local businesses to full-scale “dog carnivals” that coordinate the dog lovers and rescue community in a region to come together to save local dogs. Washes are given in exchange for a donation of $20-40, depending on the size of the dog.

Anthony Amos is the Founder of HydroDog Mobile Dog Grooming, which is now launching franchises throughout the United States. HydroDog’s Australian franchises numbered nearly 200, but the canine euthanasia situation was not as dire in the Amos family’s home country. The United States offers not only more room for franchise expansion, but also the opportunity and ambitious goal to reduce the rate of dog euthanasia by half through the coordinated shelter benefit events of the Bathe To Save Movement.

HydroDog Franchisees and Area Representatives will continue the Bathe To Save legacy by conducting their own local and regional shelter benefit events and fundraising activities on a recurring basis, distributed throughout the country. We’re baking the benefit event element into our business model, and HydroDog Groomers join our pack knowing that they’ll be working to save shelter dogs throughout the country while making great money and interacting with dogs every day.

In the middle of 2018, the second year of the Bathe To Save Tour, a deal was made with Animal Planet to film and air a show following the family’s tour. With one 6-episode season of the new series Furever Home shot and scheduled to air in September 2018, the family’s Bathe To Save Tour will re-launch again for future seasons.
